    ThirdStyle Campaign Mode

    The basic idea is to have something similar to what guitar hero did. Have a storyline and basically a whole bunch of achievements along the way, and you're rewarded for completing those achievements.

    If you have any ideas, or suggestions to a storyline please post!

    Basically we need: Story that can be continued after a new song is put in, and a huge list of easy achievements to hard along the way to go with how fast people improve in gameplay.

    List of "achievements" considered:

    This is basically little things you have to do along the way while on the campaign.

    *only listing how to get them, now what they are called for now*

    1: Get placed in a division
    2: Pass a song
    3: Pass a medium song
    4: Pass a Hard song
    5: Pass a Challenge song
    6: Complete the Tutorial
    7: Earn Stylepoints
    8: Play for 1hr/10hrs/100hrs

    Rewards for achievements:

    StylePoints, Noteskins, Songs, Things you can put on your profile page, Medals, Trophies, Pet arrows *feed with StylePoints*, able to vs new bosses, Double handed mode (not sure if the time it would take to implement really be worth it) Colored crowns by your name on the chat/MP chat

    Character: *what would you be, what would you do?* <- need input

    Story line: Is the world under attack and only dancing can save you? A ride to the top being something else, and having it somehow being related to arrowmashing?

    Posting all ideas in case someone is sparked by something in them, or one is just amazing. =D
    ==================
    1: The world is being invaded by evil arrow-monsters and the only way to kill them is to smash them with your fingers along with the beat of the music.

    2: You, the DJ, are having to play songs right on beat at concerts. Keep your approval rating high by doing well and receive fans along your way to the top.

    3: : TS obviously needs an epic battle system where the more arrows you hit powers your spaceship particle beam and random modes like sudden or hidden will prevent you from fulling charging unless your good - and if you reach max charge you can destroy the evil space monster and save the princess

    Misc ideas that need to be sorted/implemented:

    =====

    Campaign Button that's noticeable... or have it open up when you go to play Thirdstyle it brings you to page that says "Campaign/Multiplayer/Single player"

    =====
    Have difficulties on the campaign.

    In order to be sorted you are given a file to play, based on your score you are put in "Easy/Medium/Hard/Challenge"

    Based only off raw score from the file/when you failed. The song starts off very easy and gets up until it's obvious you should be in Challenge.

    Modes are: Easy/Medium/Hard/Challenge
    =====

    Bosses after a certain point in the campaign. *still need story line before we can get these in*

    =====

    Have a tutorial on what to do, explain settings, make it short and non-skippable (because so many just jump right in then leave because they don't know what to do) 30 seconds-2mins long?

    =====

    When MP is brought along, it would be nice to implement vsing "bots" that you have to defeat their score/combo/PA

    =====
    The choice between MP/Single Player/Campaign should be in the .swf for easy use with standalones.

    =====

    There should just be multiple storylines for different difficulties

    not too sure how an actual "story" would work in thirdstyle, but the thought of a sort of career mode with achievements along the way excites me. :)

    .... any achievements excite me ;P

    I remember most of them! :D

    I'll get to drafting a rough storyline tomorrow maybe! :)

    I also think there should be multiple difficulties for the different generic difficulties. (Easy, Medium & Hard.)

    They'd be like, "Fledgling Peasant", "Accomplished Noble" and "Battle Hardy Knight".

    I think the implementation would basically just require a "Campaign Mode!" button where there's an achievement system like the current one and you basically unlock the next song by passing the achievement. :D

    Obviously, Easy would be pretty easy to draw new players in.

    SP rewards for certain milestones in campaign perhaps?

    The possibilities! <3

    Play for 1,000 hours? No thanks.

    The choice between MP/Single Player/Campaign should be in the .swf for easy use with standalones.

    There should just be multiple storylines for different difficulties, a file like the one you described would be hard to make and it's too easy for it to be inaccurate. (having a bad day, sore wrists, tired, etc.)

    The file could just give you a reference on the closest two difficulties, and after you played it you can choose which you want.

    There's the problem of the progressive increased difficulty as it goes on if you're not very good with stamina. :B

    Still for newer players who have had some kind of rhythm game experience vs those who have none, it can separate them out, which is what it's meant to do in the first place. Just because it isn't accurate for everyone doesn't make it useless.

    I think for the hassle of making it and implementing it efficiently enough to sort people, it'd be easier to let people choose their own difficulty and just have a prompt to switch to a lower one if you fail 5 times in a row or something.

    Sorry for double posting, but I was thinking more about the actual essence of rhythm gaming and I think this would be really good if done correctly.

    Rhythm gaming like this is very "multiplayer" indirectly, you're trying to beat others' scores and top your own, get those AAA's, there's all these statistics to rank us against each other. A genuine single player mode would be great, IMO.

    As far as storyline goes, there's so many possibilities with the songs we have already. D:

    e.g. The Gateway was Wasted On Arrival, you have to Try To Find A Way to Make It Work.

    In the easy and beginner songs there needs to be something on essential rhythm gaming skills, a tutorial of some sort.

    In the medium there needs to be something about patterns and techniques you can try.

    Also, the songs could be locked in solo play until you finish them in story mode, of course completing the "hard" story would grant you access to all the easier songs aswell.

    This needs to be in feedback forum aswell.

    I don't support locking them in regular play mode until later on in the game (Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock locked songs in QuickPlay until you beat Story Mode and it was so annoying. >_>), that's just annoying. Medium's tutorial should probably highlight skills like rolls, trills, running men and whatnot.

    I wish this was in game so baddddd. :(

    It would be nice to have it say something along the lines of *we recommend playing the campaign the first time through this site whether you are a veteren rhythm game player or if it is your first time.* when you first load the game.

    I've been out of town, and honestly i'm having a hard time coming up with a storyline for the game that can continue to expand for every new song released. Anyone out there with brilliant ideas? =D
