Okay, I'll try to be more pertinent on this one...
(T) Technique - sim author's skills in pattern manipulation
(S) Sync - offset, BPM shifts, no misrhythms (obvious errors)
(I) Interpretation/Expression - creativity and imagination in translating the music, evoking meaningfulness in the file
(E) Engagement - fun, replayable and shows no signs of dragging the player along
(F) Flow - matching scales/chord progression, proper structure to the file, good transitions
(A) Additional deductions
(Original submission)
offset and sync looks fine
beat 0 issue exists in every difficulty of this file
Hard : 3/3/2/2/3/(0) [13/15]
15.567 : I know the beginning is quite long but those triplets begin a bit too early for me. The melody is still barely audible at this point of the song, i'd wait at least two more measures.
42.327-43.767 : not sure about the doubles here
45.567-46.047 : same as above
----
- 46.047 + 46.887 + 48.327 : are those freezes necessary ? they aren't present when there are bursts or jackhammers
- 47.127 : maybe you could change the direction of the left arrow to highlight following jackhammer
- 48.447 : missing note ?
- those three notes apply to the following silimar patterns-
This chart has everything I hate : jackhammers and bursts D: But it is pretty well done with clean patterns and no major issues.
I won't say anything about the bursts because this is far beyond my skill level, but from what I've seen and heard they seem consistent.
Have a look at the beginning though...
ACCEPTED if you fix the beginning
Medium : 3/3/2/2/3/(0) [13/15]
15.687 : same issue as the one in Hard, except the fact than this 8th stream doesn't very well with the music
46.257, 47.007, 48.447: I think you can add a note here... obviously not required but i find it gives a bit more of flowing. note apply to following similar patterns
46.647, 47.247 : i like what you did with those freezes
68.727 - 69.047 : i find the direction of these doubles a bit innapropriate, it doesn't stress the change between the drums and the synth-thingy instrument (don't know how to call it)
74.967 : shouldn't be a double
75.447 : shouldn't be here at all or at least remove the double (watch your copy/pastes)
same issue as hard on the beginning, and maybe you could replace the 8th stream by something more representative of the sounds the player hear first, not the background melody
One more thing, there's A LOT of freezes in your chart, I had trouble identifying which freeze goes to which sound, making me unable to really comment on these. You may want to clarify the whole thing a little bit by removing some (like I said for the hard)
Good chart anyway.
Also, the chart feels like you're playing twice a one minute song. You may want to try different patterns and rhythm to avoid the chart to get draggy
ACCEPTED if you fix the beginning, again.
Easy : 3/3/1/1/3/(-1)[10/15]
16.407 : same thing as Hard and Medium
33.327, 33.807 : not very relevant
46.167 - 61.527 : it's Medium without 1/16th. I'm not saying you copypasta'd, i'm saying that you should play more with the melody and the music rather than just following the drums
65.607-68-727 : why is this so hard ? you didn't even put full 1/16th triplets at 33.327 and 33.807, and now there is a whole 1/16th stream ? (-1)
As I told in Medium, chart tends to get draggy. It's true for this chart too and there's this difficulty spike.
This one needs corrections
Beginner : 3/3/2/2/3 [13/15]
Beginner chart is okay
Basic but okay.
ACCEPTED

Alright I've fixed most of the problems but what's the best way to fix the Beat 0 issue?
Just add silence to the mp3 (with audacity for example) and then readjust the offset so that the first arrow isn't on the first beat
more info here : http://thirdstyle.com/forum/showthre...e-beat-0-issue
Also, keep in mind that i'm not a very experimented simfiler, you might want to wait another review before doing any major changes to your simfile lol

Hard : 3/3/3/3/3/(0) [15/15]
I didn't notice any glaring errors in the chart, the overall structure is really nice. Even though it has pretty fast rolls and jacks in it I think it flows pretty nicely. I also find it super fun to play.
Medium : 2/3/3/2/3/(0) [13/15]
No real major mistakes here either, chart flows pretty well, has progression, nice transitions, etc. It's really fun for the 1st bit, but then starts to feel a little bit draggy. Otherwise solid chart.
Easy : 2/3/3/3/2/(-1)[12/15]
I picked up on a lot of similarities to the med chart (-1)
Overall it's a pretty nice easy chart, there are a few tricky sections for an easy chart (maybe make the patterns a little bit easier in the faster 16th sections) but given the overall progression between med and hard I think it fits pretty well. I also loved the little 16th gallops in the beginning, nice job there. I actually found this chart to be really fun for an easy chart and didn't really notice any drag to it.
Beginner : 3/3/2/2/3 [13/15]
Fits within the 2tps rule and works fine for a beg chart. Just a little bland.
All the charts are accepted but beat 0 needs to be fixed so I have to technically call it conditional for now.

Coma (AetherFlaer)
- song has beat 0 offset
Hard: 3/3/2/3/3/(0) [14/15] - Strongly Accepted
- 15.447: the arpeggiated melody that you're trying to follow here is EXTREMELY quiet. It's barely audible in headphones -- perhaps you should remove the first measure or so of it? Not a required fix by any means, but I'd certainly consider it. There might not be any way around it in terms of transition/flow, though.
- 45.207: the sound here is pretty quiet, so having straight jumps here is a bit unnecessary. Layering the repeated notes over the percussion works well, but you'd have to remove the jump here, as well as at 45.687, 45.807, 45.927, and 46.047.
- aside from this, I'm absolutely digging this Hard chart. BRUTALLY difficult, but it fits the music so well. Props.
Medium: 3/2/3/3/3/(0) [14/15] - Strongly Accepted
- 15.447: same issue on Hard - not very audible, but not much to do about it in terms of transitions or flow
- 61.527: interesting take! These sections are a bit rough for a Medium chart, but it progresses linearly with Hard (Hard = 64ths, so 32nds on Medium are very fitting)
- 61.047/90.807: remove this jump, please
Easy: 2/3/3/3/3/(-3) [11/15] - Not Accepted
[-1] - noticeable similarities in structure from Medium chart.
- 33.447 (etc): these instances of 16ths to the melody would be a bit better represented if shifted down 1/16th of a note; i.e. rather than 33.327/33.447, put them at 33.447 and 33.567. These start the pattern on a more common and understandable rhythm (an 8th, which even the newest of players can pick up on) rather than a more complex one (a 16th, which is something Easy players are more likely to struggle with). This does create a sets of three-note 16ths, but it won't be a huge problem if the patterns are simple.
[-1] - 65.607 to 68.727/73.047 to 76.407: this is absolutely BRUTAL for an Easy level chart. I can't sit here and say that the chart is wrong in doing this in comparison to the other difficulties, but having intermittent jumps in the middle of a 125 BPM 16th stream is a bit much for me. I would very much like to see this toned down and stepped similarly to how it is the first time around.
- 69.207 to 73.047: jumps in this section are off by a beat. Fix.
- 75.447: remove jump, as there's nothing added here in this particular step
[-1] - 96.087 to 99.447/103.767 to 107.127: see 65.607 to 68.727 (etc), also, use different patterns please; copy-paste = no-no
- 106.167: remove jump
- ending is stepped nicely
Beginner: 3/3/2/2/3/(0) [13/15] - Accepted
first tap: 0.087; last tap: 122.007; taps: 152; length: 121.92; NPS: 1.25
- within NPS threshold
- 15.447 to 44.247: a bit arbitrary of a rhythm, no? You're not following much with this rhythm.
- 69.207 to 74.487: a little rough of a spike for only adding the bass drum, which is a main component of the song anyway.
- 96.087 to 105.207: ^
I emailed an updated version in. I think I fixed most of the stuff but I'm not sure.
Aj and I took a quick look at the resub, all the fixes mentioned appear to be fixed. Accepts from both of us.
