We've recently made a few changes to how StylePoints work. Among the chief changes is a reduction in the amount of points rewarded for a full combo (FC) or perfect score (AAA). However, this is balanced by new bonuses for playing longer songs. Players likely won't see much of a difference in their long-term earnings. Here's the breakdown:
1. The score thresholds for earning particular amounts of StylePoints have been moved around a bit. The first point now comes at 50,000 points, for instance. The second is rewarded at 150,000 points, the third at 350,000 points, and so on, up to a possible eighth StylePoint given at a score of 3.6 million.
2. Full combos (FCs) are now worth 1 additional StylePoint. Black flags (BFs), for scoring all perfects except for 1 Great on a file, are worth 2 StylePoints, and perfect scores (AAAs) are worth 3 StylePoints.
3. For passing a song that's at least 2 minutes and 30 seconds long, you'll get a bonus StylePoint. You'll get two for passing a song longer than 5 minutes.
4. If you pass a song and get a new personal best score, you pick up a bonus StylePoint. But, like in the NHL, no ties allowed.
For all the score thresholds and every way to earn SP so far, have a look at this thread in the forum. Thanks to Tasselfoot for providing his original ideas which were taken into consideration during the revisions, and Vote4Nixon for testing and implementation.
Have fun, guys! Don't spend all those points in one place - unless it's the ThirdStyle Store!
