    Cornandbeans Returns and New Post-Hardcore!

The following is a guest post by SirRhythm! Front page postin, like a sir.

Cornandbeans is a reappearing artist this week, who has two previous releases on ThirdStyle: {Rose}, released in late 2010, and {Stay With Me}, released in mid 2011. It is quite obvious by the high amount of plays that he has that we all love him, so this week ThirdStyle is releasing a third song from cornandbeans, {Midnight}. Enjoy!

Also, lets welcome eiddiM to the ever growing list of simfile artists, great job!

    Play {Midnight} on ThirdStyle!

Secrets will be touring with another band well-known to ThirdStyle, Sleeping With Sirens, this spring to promote their latest album, The Ascent.

The song is stepped by Nocturne, a member who is no stranger to stepping this genre.

You can find more Secrets on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and their Official website.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Despite what happened, you will be seeing at least one more chart from me.

Also I feel as if I should state this for anyone who plays the hard chart and is confused.

In reference to the trills: If you're bad at trills, you're gonna hate them. I hate this pattern myself. But I felt it HAD to be that way, thus it is.

In reference to the 192nds in the final stream: Pay very close attention to what sounds these are for, if you don't figure that out, you most likely will struggle to not drop goods here.

Anyways, thanks for the opportunity TS Staff and simchart judges who dealt with the, I think it was 4 total submissions of this chart. I appreciate some of you who discussed with me your thoughts and concerns, and I do feel honestly, that I did get something out of this, despite getting a chart in game.

    I threw up in my mouth a little when I played {Midnight}
Does TS even review files before they put them in the game? lmfao

p.s. you complained about the trill transitions in Theme of Payon...?

    1. Yes they do judge, and if anything (imho) getting a chart into Thirdstyle is harder than getting a chart into FFR, because not only do you have to get ONE chart in, you have to get all four passed. It's also not a quantity over quality thing either. (Unless you're Jonny to be fair, and no offense intended.)

    2. Theme of Payon's comment was yes made in a manner of rage, but the way I approached it was that I don't think a great deal of step artists would have stepped the song as trills. I would like to think that more of them would have made it easier. Your chart is a dump, but it's not a hilariously layered one that's ridiculous either.

    3. {Midnight}'s hardest pattern is not the trills in question. It's the final stream as if you are not reading at your best, you will always dump goods in it. I'm surprised that the 192nds were the biggest issue, yet I recall only one person actually complaining to me about them.

    4. I did ask about the idea of that yellow note being constant. I tried my best to make that section flow as best I could while doing what I felt I needed to do with the section. I did try to do what was requested of me. This is the result of what I was asked to do. I do agree one of the people who reviewed this chart and accepted it, didn't check it thoughtfully as they should have. But you know as well as anyone else that there's not a technical reason the trills are (completely) wrong.

    5. Subjective opinions we both share. I wonder if yours was made actually playing it.

Thanks for sharing your opinion though. Despite disagreeing with it ect, Its at least feedback to consider that isn't "Your chart is really good! But thought it had to many hands/quads. 6/10" I do appreciate it.

    1. lol coming from the guy with no charts in FFR

    2. Everyone who has ever stepped Theme of Payon has used trills for that sound. I invite you to make something fun (for FFR) that doesn't.
I agree it's not the best file ever, but it's also not a dump. It follows the music.

    3. {Midnight}'s hardest pattern for me, and certainly many other people, is the runningman trills. I find the ending stream easy.
This is mainly because of 1-handed trills, plus your trill transitions are terrible (switch L/R sides all the time destroys flow) and then you get the PR wrong at the end too which throws me off.
The streams are just standard terribly patterned streams, sort of like Abyssal. The white arrows (which are used incorrectly in places) barely even register to be honest.

    4. The trills aren't technically wrong (except the part where they are technically wrong, like I said you got the PR wrong at the end), but there's plenty of charts that aren't technically wrong that are still awful.
The roll wall in FFR's Skeletor file is technically correct; that's a pretty weak argument when it's out of place compared to the rest of the file and simply not even fun.

    5. I did play it the whole way through, twice. Never again.

Some other things that are wrong with the file:
You missed a pattern change due to the pitch change in the 3 1 432 triplets at the start.
Your layering in the section after the trills is completely arbitrary.

I'd be glad to give you a more detailed explanation of how the chart could be made both more technically correct and flow better, but I have a feeling you'd ignore it.
PM me if you'd honestly like advice.
