ThirdStyle's Unofficial Tournament v2.0 - Complete!

So as you all know, our fellow resident member, Nocturne, has been running ThirdStyle's Second Unofficial Tournament since January 30th. The tournament finally concluded last night and to some it was a sigh of relief, while others were wishing for that “one more day.” This tournament sprung surprising division winners, dished out rivalries over the course of its duration, and really pushed competitors’ skills to the limit. The competition ranged from songs such as Chocobreaks (Beginner) to songs like Saffron City (Hard). All around, this tournament exposed not only individual weaknesses, but also exposed individual strengths. Ranging from trills, to jacks, to 64th walls, it truly was intimidating at first. Then, people started to play nonstop, determined until they overcame their weaknesses just trying to get that certain percentage above the next person to win. In the end, though, 6 winners were crowned and losers went home. As harsh as that sounds, that’s how the tournament started and ended; with that state of mind.

As well, a separate congratulations goes to Shaun (Nocturne) for hosting such an awesome tournament that kept everyone on the edge of their seats the entire time! Good job with the tournament Shaun, and we look forward to seeing more of them in the future!

oh u were adding scores up form rounds, i was lead to believe that this was an elimination contest (each round meant nothing ones it was over as long as u survives, not cumulative.)

This tournament will be ran Accumulative Elimination style using Percentage Scoring instead of total scoring. That means a certain number of people who don't get a high enough percentage score by the end of the round will be removed from the tournament. Anyone who does NOT submit a score for a round, without good reason, will be placed in priority seating for elimination. And all your scores will add together into a Total Percentage Average [TPA], as well as a Total Percentage Score (Each 00.01% earned = 1 pt) [TPS] which will be used to rank you amongst the other competitors, so just submitting scores to get by will bite you in the end, so make sure to submit as best a score as you can possibly get.

Before the tournament I was thinking it was going to be like in the rules, but as it progressed I was convinced that this was a "forget to post your score and be eliminated" kind of contest. That was why I always tried to get a score up quickly, no matter if it was good or not.
I was quite surprised when Kana was eliminated after the semi-finals even though a score was uploaded (and one in another devision iirc) and in the end I came 3rd in D3 solely because SirRythmic forgot to post a score... How many people were actually eliminated which was not the cause of them not uploading a score at some point?

I made it pretty clear in the OP. "Posting scores just to get by might bite you in the end" Kana's last scores dragged her accumulative score/average down a lot, causing her to be eliminated. This could've been possibly avoided by trying harder on the other songs.

I also made that pretty clear, everything was in the OP, it was up to the participant to read it through. Unfortunately, we had a lot of unactive players. I wasn't gonna eliminate someone else and let the unscored players get through, that'd give them more time to finish the round they neglected, i gave everyone a full week to score. That's way more than enough time for one score. Unfortunately some people got lazy or had busy schedules and couldn't manage to set aside some time for it. Those with reasonable excuses i allowed more time, those how did not make an effort to tell me why they were late i eliminated. It all comes down to how committed the players were to the event, some enjoyed it, some joined and ended up doing nothing. It was an open even, not a mandatory event.

Yeah thanks :) Hopefully if we throw an official tournament someday, it'll have much better prizes, and more incentive to actively stay in tournament!

I could have made it in to round 6... but then i took an arrow to the knee.

i forgot to SS my best score, so ya know whatevs.
But seeing as round 6 was japan style breakcore, Im not regretting it as much now.

Well, 2nd is better than 3rd! (no offence moisseurvince ;) ) Congrats D2 peoples! You all did well! Congrats Ichigo for beating me, and congrats moisseurvince for trying! Let's hope next year's will be better! (doubt it though, this was awesomesauce!)
