I was thinking, since the algo is still borked and nothing is really being done to fix it, we could account for it's imprecision by giving hard factual information instead of just a loosely NPS centered difficulty. You know, like when you play ITG or open DDream?
It'd be much more helpful to see this data on song info, not some random number that means nothing to me.
So I decided to give it a go.
I didn't do beginner because I haven't played it for a rank and because, well, the avNPS is gonna be below 2 anyways. But in this situation, it still gives the algorithms loose suggested difficulty, and your statistical ranking and score on it, however it gives more insight on what to expect when playing this song, the Taps information will give you the precise amount of notes placed in a given chart, with the inormation as well, you can expect to gain a max combo on that same number if you Full Combo the entire chart. The Holds information tells you how many notes are actually freezes/holds and not actual regular taps. This would help for songs like Pork Cylinders, that have very little taps and VERY LARGE amounts of holds, where the algorithm does not account for those holds and takes purely a rough difficulty based from NPS. Expect a very holds heavy chart if you notice the "Holds" quantity is greater than the "Taps" quantity. The avNPS information gives you just that, Average Notes Per Second. This is more commonly referred to be more experienced players who see relevance in avNPS, an avNPS of 16.4, as you can see on the picture above, is highlighted in red, meaning it is a very high count of NPS, and the player can expect to be hitting over 16 notes every second, which is requires good reading skills and fast-fingers to hit accurately. The color of the avNPS count would adjust itself between green-red accordingly in dependence of the actual output number shown.
Example
avNPS: 1
avNPS: 2
avNPS: 4
avNPS: 6
avNPS: 8
avNPS: 12
avNPS: 16
avNPS: 20
