    ALLB Music Video Contest Winner

It's always cool when bands ask their fans to get creative.

A Lot Like Birds (featuring ex-Dance Gavin Dance vocalist, Kurt Travis) held a contest asking fans to create a music video for the first single off their Doghouse Records debut, Conversation Piece (October 11, 2011). The song, "Think Dirty Out Loud," was originally unleashed on the world August 17th.

John Howe had the winning video.

    He won some dope shit:
    -$100 iTunes gift card
-Doghouse prize pack (all Doghouse Records’ recent releases for 2009 / 2010 / 2011)
    -Autographed copy of Conversation Piece.
-Limited edition Conversation Piece poster from the preorder
-Signed drum head from the band

What do you think of the final product?

That song is freaking awesome. I wonder if Ricky has permission for us to step 'A Lot Like Birds' music for the game.

Also, great video by john howe, best lyrics video I have ever seen.

Damn. This song was intense and the video must have taken forever to make, but I can definitely see why he won.

Right? I've been seeing a ton of lyrics videos nowadays, even labels releasing them along with single releases... but this is by far the most creative and perfect one I've seen! They said they were gonna post the runner up, I'm curious to see if that video artist put an ounce of the effort Howe did into their own video!

I just saw I The Mighty and Just Like Vinyl are going on tour with these guys!

Just Like Vinyl features dudes from The Fall of Troy.
They released their self-titled debut record in October 2010. Apparently they're working on a new one, but either way, it's a very strong record.

I mentioned I The Mighty briefly in my previous post, Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space + 2012 Outlook + Naptime. They're so good! I came across them sometime in 2010 because their EP was a free download on bandcamp. It's still free! http://ithemighty.bandcamp.com/
Last year they got signed to my favorite label, EVR. I need to hit up a date on this tour so I can A) see ALLB. B) see JLV. C) see ITM. And sample the new material. Looks like the NYC date for me.

    Haven't heard Decoder yet.
