Hey guys, things seem to get a bit confusing in this section at times, so I thought a thread where the status of all files can go might help a little. This should hopefully also prevent the wrong files from being uploaded to the engine.

Currently, files need accepts from two judges to be put in game. What I was thinking was we attach the files that are accepted here, with the date they were submitted. Once a file is added to game,we just remove it from the OP. If for any reason a user would like to send in a fix to an accepted file, they just need to let us know and we can put a note that the user is sending an updated version. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for this feel free to post them.

All threads having a DJzAIKz file have been opened and the files have been placed in their respective positions.

I also want to start enforcing an inactive submission rule to avoid confusion within threads. With that being said, if a simfile artist doesn't respond to a thread a week after a judgment has been posted, their thread will be locked and a resubmission of the same file will be housed in a new thread. Does this sound good to all of the other simfile artists?

Just curious, why of the same file? Wouldn't they have to re-obtain judgments all over again?

Well resubs need to be judged again anyway pretty much, but the idea is moreso to keep from having a bunch of unlocked inactive threads. There's some stuff that's had at least one judgement but no response from the sim author. I don't think we necessarily need to make another thread, maybe lock then re-open if the person decides to re-submit.

Yeah locking and then re-opening sounds like a better plan. Prevents us from having to many duplicate threads for resubmissions.

Ignore me if this has been changed, but this isn't doable because if it's a new stepartist then they can't reply at all till they're made a simfile author. At least this is kinda what I ran into when trying to get {Midnight} in the game.

However if that's fixed I say heck yes.

I've wanted this forum to go to public posting for a long time. By a week-long response time, I'm pretty sure AJ is also talking about fixes sent to the email. However, for people who are not yet orange-named, it's very hard to establish lines of communication. You sent your responses to all of the judges' comments in an email, which I included in posting the submission - however, would it not be easier to just toss it right in the thread?

Of course, this forum would have to be heavily moderated, but that's part of why there are more simfile mods now.

This is a good example of something we'd have to deal with, with public posting active.

Your new files have only been up for an hour and a half. People will get to them in time.

Alright, so it seems like the general consensus is saying to lock the threads and reopen on a new submission. I can definitely agree with this. I'll start keeping track of files, locking those that are not responded to within a week.

Those trying to submit simfiles can also send a private message to any one of the moderators and let them know if for any reason they can't get their file in on time. There will be leeway on this.

If there are files that have been sitting with fixes requested for over a month and no reply from the sim author, I'm going to start moving them to rejected. There's really no reason to keep something open for months.
