View Full Version : Google to kill Chrome's URL bar?

Google is working on a “major” overhaul of its Chrome browser user interface (UI). Among the options on the table is the elimination of the URL bar, which could be the most significant UI change to the web browser since its invention. Another feature that appears to be already signed off is the support of multiple user profiles that can be used in parallel.

the browser already give you a crap ton of viewable space i dont see the reason to get rid of the url bar

... How has this not been thought of before. Chrome once again thinks of a pretty great way, in my opinion, to reduce even more space. However, I'm not sure how this will fair too well with people who have a ton extensions that have their own icon. It'll be interesting to see how this all works out.
