JPEG.Jive
-> offset looks good up to zoom 8 on DDream.
Hard: 2/3/2/1/2/(0) [10/15]
- 64th notes up to the first 28 seconds are barely audible at normal rate because of how close in succession the notes are. Consider using freezes.
- the more prevalent flourishes of notes are only four 64th notes long. It is somewhat noticeable on a normal rate, considering that I picked it up and checked to make sure. This happens for a good majority of the song.
- 30.482 to 44.790: to me, there are some ambiguous freeze arrows. Some are following the synthesized organ-esque instrument (38.559/38.905/etc), but the others are unclear.
- 48.597 to 50.184: Not only is this very rough, it's also very monotonous (consider the fact that most people will be jumptrilling these and you have a pretty basic flow of motion).
- 63.251: this is kinda cool, haha.
- 78.250 to 105.597: aside from that nasty pattern at 105.251, this solo is VERY nicely done. Patterns are pretty tricky, but smooth enough to be doable and challenging at the same time. There are a few 64ths that are questionable due to how close they are musically (it is hard to discern them apart).
- 107.559: neat!
- 115.925: seemingly unintentional 3/64th note jack (D -> L[D]URL)
- 118.175: incorrect rhythm (it offsets by 1/32nd of a note, so the flams restart at 118.233)
- 124.637: I'd love to see all of the 64ths you have stepped as 32nd flams - it would make a much more consistent and enjoyable file (obviously, in my opinion). This part is great.
- 142.752: that is BRUTALLY difficult.
- 150.137: and that is even worse.
This file has so much potential, holy christ. The main issue with this chart to me, is the fact that it uses a ton of 64th bursts to accent background/melodic synths, which is technically correct, yes. However, it also makes the chart so hard to take in stride because of how long it is and how frequently it utilizes the same style of charting/patterns, over and over again. The amount of 64ths used in this chart are so high. Inversely, the amount of patterns that are doable at that speed are incredibly limited ([12][34], and [34][12] or [13][24]/[14][23] and their counterparts, probably repeating. Consider how hard it is to switch from [12][34][12][34] to [14][23][14][23] at the speed you're demanding). This makes the motions within the chart very repetitive, and unfortunately, very draggy. The solo in this chart is REALLY fun - the patterns flow well enough to be doable, but rigid enough for it to be a challenge. I personally feel like the 64ths can be changed to 32nds to not only allow for a more consistent difficulty, but also to allow for much more pattern variation. This is definitely a great attempt at a file, though. It needs to be refined a bit more.
Medium: 2/3/3/3/2/(0) (13/15)
- in and out of following that synthesized organ in the beginning?
- 31.290/(etc): these are a bit rigid for a Medium chart (tap into a 32nd jump is pretty tricky especially when it's a split pattern).
- 138.244 (and early in the file as well): why do you go in and out from accenting only the synth hits and adding 16th (and runs)?
This file is pretty solid, albeit a few repetitive pattern choices and some really close jump/tap 32nd combinations. There are some occasional 16th runs that get thrown into the mix during some heavy accents, but it is a fair drop in technicality and overall density. Nicely done.
Easy: 3/3/2/3/2/(0) [13/15]
- starts off nice with a pretty tricky melody, but gets a bit bland with an 8th stream immediately after the beginning
- 97.751: shift this arrow up 1/16th of a note, it's a bit more smoother than this current rhythm
- not entirely fond of the excessive usage of off-beat notes in the solo area, this chart is already difficult as is for a newer player because of the large amount of tricky rhythms
- 154.983: you should probably make this and any other short 16th bursts have simpler patterns.
Not bad. Very tricky rhythms in the solo area, and some syncopation could use a bit of work.
Beginner: 3/2/2/2/2/(0) [11/15]
- First step: 4.174; last step: 155.560; total length: 151.386; notes: 296; NPS: 1.96 (you're pushin' it, buddy)
Some 16ths don't have easy lead-ins rhythmically. Large amounts of the chart hover over 2 NPS, and are accompanied with complex (for beginner) rhythms, and occasional 8th notes. The patterns don't relent when the NPS jumps, either. Tame this chart a bit more.
Confer with me on any disagreements, please. I'd gladly be willing to resolve issues on this file.

bumpbadabump with an update. Still not sure what to do at 142.75 and 150.14

Hard: I LOVE this chart. The 64ths are pretty mean though. Those are the only thing that put me up on a fence a bit with this but I think overall it's really well done and I'm going to Light Accept
Medium: Very well done Accepted
Easy: The only thing I would suggest is getting rid of the arrow in the speedup section after the freezes. Feels a little harsh for a newer player. Otherwise nicely done. Accepted
Beginner: You're under 2tps, it seems slightly on the harder side for a beg chart, but given the difficulty of the other charts I think it works. Accepted

Step counts/freeze counts are the same for both the old version and the resubmission on all four difficulties - and I wasn't able to notice any fixes on anything; did you upload the correct version?

The version that's up there right now looks like the right one. I didn't do many major changes, just toned down a few of the large 64th zones. I haven't uploaded it to stepcloud, but the .zip is right.

Can you get me the final step counts on your most updated version? I just want to make sure it's not a problem on my end.

(T) Technique - sim author's skills in pattern manipulation
(S) Sync - offset, BPM shifts, no misrhythms (obvious errors)
(I) Interpretation/Expression - creativity and imagination in translating the music, evoking meaningfulness in the file
(E) Engagement - fun, replayable and shows no signs of dragging the player along
(F) Flow - matching scales/chord progression, proper structure to the file, good transitions
KEY:
T/S/I/E/F/(A) = Technique/Sync/Interpretation & Expression/Engagement/Flow/(Additional deductions/additions)
optional notes and not required changes
Serious errors.
Additional deductions.
Positively notable or corrected error.

That ending is SO BRUTAL it's unreal. But you know what, I don't care anymore -- you took just about everything I gave you details about in stride and made a great attempt at fixing it. Absolutely accepted this time around.

File doesn't look too noticeably different - still accepted.

- use of offbeat 16ths in this chart is much better than previously
- this is still a pretty damn rough beginner chart.
- patterns look slightly easier

I'll go back through the song again soon, make a few last changes, and put up the final file. Thanks a lot for the feedback, it helps a ton.

Glad to help! Nice job on all of the fixes; it's going to definitely be a memorable file for a lot of people.
