anyone tried akinator?

akinator is a pretty interesting online/app thing!!

It's like 20Q. but far more accurate, you can select any character (even vg characters), meme, or real-life person!

I've tried loads of different things, ranging from Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Ren (I like Vocaloid anime artists! ^_^) to PedoBear! he gets them all correct.

The only one that didn't work that i tried was Chuck Norris! (shock...)

it won't know things like that... like characters, and famous artists, i mean you artists are awesome, but not so well-known that Akinator knows of you...

Tried following characters (in this order):
Haruhi
Reimu
Kyonko
Kuchiki Touko (Kara no Shoujo), oh god, even characters from porn games...
Cossette d'Auvergne, had to try this one twice before working and it was up on 40+ questions second time. (First time it stalled on the "loli" guess xD)
Mizuha Shiratori (G-Senjou no Maou), couldn't find this one, but it was on the list of suspects. No incorrect answers compared to what it expects with that character, so complete fail here.
Ichinomiya Kou (Arakawa under the bridge), on third guess
Win3.11-tan, couldn't find this one either (It guessed on Android and wikipe-tan; had XP, ME and Sliverlight on the list)
Atrus (Myst), got this one on the first guess
Shamisen (Kyon's cat), on first guess, and apparently more popular than Atrus : S (~700 plays vs. ~400 plays)
Rakka (Haibane renmei), first guess, more popular than I expected (~1800 plays)
Amano Tooko (Bungaku Shoujo), no luck here, but it had it in the database

Great questions:
Do your character have a navel? (WTF?)
Do your character have small breasts?
Have you been romantically involved with your character? (And similar variations, after it have been told that it is a fictional character)
Was your character born in Romania? (Where the hell did that just come from?)
Does your character ride a giant robot? (GIANT ROBOTS, yeah!)

My impressions:
Impressive database with characters, a LOT of people must be playing this.

However I'm less impressed with the actual engine. It guesses way too soon, most of all the characters I tried had 2 or 3 guesses.
Too many of the questions were mutually exclusive, if I say my character is a child, it is not suddenly going to be over 40 years old... Too many questions are too specific, asking if the character have a specific hair color 7 times is simply too stupid... While it works, there is much to improve...

The web-interface isn't that good either. First of all, it was very slow in the start for me. Each time I answered a question, it had to load for 5 to 15 seconds which is just completely unacceptable. And there are several other issues, like the question text appearing outside the question bobble, which can make it hard to read. There are also some syncing issues where the game goes to the next screen, but old data appears for a second before it is replaced with the new data.

indeed, sometimes it goes off, asking for refresh, yes it did ask me if my character has small breasts (guess you CAN distinct characters like this...)

it's speed is fine for me, and the only character i know which rides a massive robot is TRON (not that odd motorbike thing...)

you know quite a lot of anime / japanese / and... porn... game...? characters too!

mind you, If you do this, and make him go wrong 3 times, say no, and he should ask which one was it? and then you can add your own! ^_^

I guess most characters from Mech anime should fit "rides on giant robot", but I came to think of the Megas XLR theme "Chicks Dig Giant Robots" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-kYiDbG39s) of some reason, I have never seen that cartoon though...

I do know a lot of anime and other fictional Japanese characters, but it is not that strange since I have seen quite a bit of anime now. It is a bit scary thinking of how many there are though...

I enjoy anime a bit, but if anyone finds out, I'm pretty sure we're all screwed...
